Its a small industry this surf/skate brand world, even more close knit when people start looking very muck alike. Insight’s sales manager Larry Castro on the left, doing his best hair impersonation of RVCA’s founder Pat Tenore, during the Agenda Tradeshow in HB last week.
Last night the SIMA Image Awards went down at the House of Blues in the Disneyland convention center. Traffic getting there was a nightmare, but once inside the surf industry came together to celebrate brands, products and inovation from 2010. Insight were nominated in two women’s categories and we snagged the Best Marketing Campaign, marking the fourth SIMA award we’ve received since arriving in the USA less than 6 years ago. As always most of the credit goes to the amazing creative team back in Australia, for dreaming up incredible ideas and somehow pulling them off. It was surreal to walk into the venue and minutes later be up on stage blinded by the lights, but such an honor to represent a bunch of mates, hooligans and inspiring individuals who make Insight the truly special collective it is.
